A former client couple for whom we designed a house, desired to relocate to a Golf club residential complex. They amassed a collection of furniture and art in their previous house that accurately represents their lifestyle so it was decided to build a new house around this collection.
The L shaped configuration (so prevalent in colonial architecture in Latin America) creates a perfect configuration for a lifestyle that seamlessly blend interior and exterior spaces.
The structure is a very light steel frame on top of which roofs of differing heights float independently of each other. The whole composition is basically an open plan configuration scaled to fit the needs and requirements of their valued art and furniture collection.
