A surfer community that frequents El Salvador pacific coast requested we come up with a concept for a second home development.
The selected site consists of a rock cliff with unparalleled views of the ocean, and right underneath, a large open natural cave!
The project was conceived as a series of concrete and steel structures cantilevered from the cliffs facing the pacific sea. The structures will be connected with each other by a suspended platform that folds and contours the site topography (defining communal leisure areas).
An important part of the project lies on the intervention of the natural cave situated at sea level (right under the development), which will have additional amenities for the owners of the houses. The descent to the cave through the cliff’s face, a major component of the design.
